Brand Identity
The challenge was to create an identity that reflected the vision of Facebook’s oversight board. The board aims to promote free expression by making principled, independent decisions regarding content on Facebook and Instagram and by issuing recommendations on the relevant Facebook company content policy.
The design intention was to convey trust, neutrality, and decision. The objective was to find a symbol representing the 40 members from around the world who represent diverse disciplines and backgrounds who would uphold or reverse Facebook’s content decisions.
